Spotting
the gap
With the existing colour systems in the market, even the most experienced professionals struggle to remember or understand a seemingly alien set of colour codes.
This often results in a bottleneck of detailed colour information between designers, clients and suppliers. In a world that moves at breakneck speed, we urgently need to update the way we communicate about colour.
We set out to create a new colour system that is precise, scalable and simple to use. This system should be easy for anyone and everyone, from a large scale or industrial level, all the way down to the ordinary person on the street.
As such, ICN has been created out of these factors. Building upon lessons learnt from past methods and experiences, we applied a blend of science and intuition to our numbering and categorisation system. ICN doesn't just organise colours – it reveals the inherent relationships between them, which is key to unlocking our understanding of colour harmony.
And being perfectionists ourselves, our research and refinement process was done with the aid of world-renowned colour experts from diverse fields of specialities – from neurology, psychology to design.
Our goal is simple: create a global ecosystem where every ICN user is empowered with the knowledge and understanding to communicate about colour with confidence.
